HOW TO ENTER

1.   Submissions: All submissions are now 100% online!

2.   All entries must be new pieces of artwork, have a title, and an artist statement inspired by this year’s theme: I MATTER BECAUSE.

3.   The Artist Statement must be no more than 100 words. Any submissions without one will be rejected.

4.   Entries are due October 14, 2020 ONLINE ONLY. Click here for online form.Click here for online form.

5.   Students may submit entries in more than one category.

6.   Only ONE STUDENT may create the work and be recognized as the award recipient, but other students may appear in the artwork itself.

7.   No “recycled” entries from art class, dance recital, school assignment, previous Reflections entries.

8.   Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Art entries must all be submitted via this form and have to be less than 1GB in file size. Visual Art is now digital, the original dimension requirements are not valid, but the file size is important.

 

KEY POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND

Interpretation: How closely the piece relates to the theme, based on the work itself and the artist statement.

Creativity: How creative and original the piece is in its conception of the theme and its presentation.

Technique: The level of skill demonstrated in the basic principles/techniques of the arts area.
