Eager to Learn a Bit More About Vista Verde PTA?

Every Wednesday after school, during the month if August, we will have a PTA Info Booth in front of the school, outside of the MPR.

If you have been wondering how our PTA works, what we do, or how you can get involved to help make a difference at our school, now is your chance to talk parent-to-parent with current PTA members, and ask all the questions you want!

This is your opportunity to come and learn about YOUR PTA, and how YOU can get involved.

We will also have some leftover Viking Apparel from last year on sale, so make sure to come by and check that out!

Everyone is WELCOME, and we look forward to meeting you! Stop by any Wednesday in August from 1:00-2:00pm.

Blessings in a Backpack

Dear Fabulous Vista Verde Community!

Due to the remarkable generosity of our Vista Verde Community, last year’s “Blessings in a Backpack” community service project was such a huge success that we are going to do it again. We will begin August 15th. I am always amazed at how thoughtful and compassionate Vista Verde families are. Thank you for all that you do to make Vista Verde the remarkable school that it is!!!

Reflections Art Program – Call for Entries!

The Reflections Art Program is an annual PTA sponsored program encouraging students to participate in the arts.

The 2018-2019 Reflections theme is, “Heroes Around Me”. All Vista Verde students are invited to participate. Students may submit their artwork, reflecting the 2018-2019 Reflections Art Program theme, in one of six (6) categories: Visual Art (2D & 3D), Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film Production.

There are 3 grade categories (K-2, 3-5, 6-8), as well as a Special Artist’s category. The Special Artist Division welcomes students from all grades and abilities and offers non-artistic accommodations (e.g. adaptive technology; transcribing; holding a camera) for students to participate fully in the Reflections Art Program.

It’s easy to participate:
1. Reflect on this year’s theme: “Heroes Around Me”.
2. Create an original work inspired by the theme.
3. Celebrate your achievements and win prizes!

Parking Lot Protocol and Drop-off – Pick-up Procedures – Safe Routes to School Map

Parking Lot Protocol and Drop-off /Pick-up Procedures/Safe Routes to School Map:

Now that we are into our first month, please take some time again to read and review our comprehensive parking lot procedures. We encourage you to share this information with grandparents and other care givers who may come to school to either drop off or pick up your child.

Please embrace our S.T.A.R. philosophy by being Safe School Community members to others while driving in our parking lot. Our school staff works hard to keep kids safe at all times while on campus — including while entering and exiting school.

Thank you so much for your assistance in ensuring that all families follow these guidelines to keep our students safe.
