How the Sign-Up Process Works:
1.    Register for the event on the OC Youth Sports website. https://ocyouthsports.org/tournament/
2.    Your registration is sent to the school coordinator, who forwards the list to a coach (if there is one). If not, coordinator will ask for coaches or we have until the time we have to submit final roster. Coaches are not provided by school. A parent must volunteer to be a coach.
3.    Wait for an email from the coach regarding try-outs, practices, and games.
4.    If a coach has not yet been identified, communication will follow once one is available. The school coordinator may also provide updates.Important Things to Know
•    Registration does not guarantee placement on a team. Team sizes are limited, and participation depends on player capacity and coach availability.

•    If your child does not make the team, OC Youth Sports will issue a refund.
•    Some teams consist of players who have played together previously and are already practicing. These practicesshould not be confused with tryouts for new teams.
•    All communication about tryouts, practices, and games will come from the coach.Action Items
•    Check the OC Youth Sports website directly. You do not need to wait for a sign-up link from the school coordinator. Visit the website anytime, and if registration is open for an event, you can register.

•    Sign up for all applicable TOC events when registration is available.
•    For Harvest Cup, register by November 1 using the Harvest Cup registration link .
•    Make sure you receive a confirmation email after registering. If you do not receive one, contact OC Youth Sports to confirm your registration.
•    Watch your email for communication from the coach regarding tryouts, practices, and games.Please contact saam.mobasseri@gmail.com with any questions.

Reflections Art Program

Reflections entries are due Monday, October 19 at 3:30 p.m.

The Reflections Art Program through the PTA is a great opportunity for students to get creative, share something meaningful to them, and have their work recognized and celebrated by our school community. Vista Verde winners will be recognized in early 2027, and selected entries will have the opportunity to advance to the district, state, and national levels.

Students in grades K-8 may submit one original entry per category in any or all of the following categories: 

  • Visual Arts
  • Photography
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Film Production
  • Dance Choreography

 

All entries must be submitted digitally through the entry form. Visual Arts, Photography, and Literature entries must also be dropped off at the Vista Verde Front Office by the deadline.

PTA Reflections: What my culture means to me

PTA Reflections: What My Culture Means to Me

All Vista Verde students in grades K–8 are invited to participate in this year’s Reflections Art Program! Reflections encourages students to explore their creativity and share their unique perspectives through the visual, performing, and written arts.

Students may submit one original entry per category in any or all of the following:

  • Visual Arts
  •  Photography
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production

Free Reflections Creative Workshop

To help students get inspired and start creating, we’re hosting a free, after-school Creative Workshop at Vista Verde!

Students will have an opportunity to explore different Reflections categories, brainstorm ideas around this year’s theme, and begin developing an entry. Parents are welcome to attend.

Each year, Vista Verde students create thoughtful and inspiring work, with many entries advancing beyond the school level to Irvine Council, Fourth District PTA, California State PTA, and even the National PTA Reflections Program. We can’t wait to see how our students interpret this year’s theme, What My Culture Means to Me!

September Pediatric Cancer Month

 September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and we invite our community to support a cause close to our hearts. Former student Jake Brandes and his family are raising funds for childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the UCLA Nano Transformers/Jonas Lab.

The Jonas Lab is working to develop safer, more effective treatments for children with cancer. Please consider clicking the link to make a donation for children impacted by childhood cancer. Every contribution helps fund groundbreaking research toward better treatments and cures.
