IPSF Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament- Register by Feb 16
Have fun representing Vista Verde at this year’s Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament for boys and girls in grades 3-8. The tournament will be held from March 13th-15th at various Irvine basketball gyms.
All students are welcome to try out. The registration fee is $35 per person (price includes 2 T-shirts)

Code Ninjas – 20% Off Discount Offer
Code Ninjas is offering 20% off discount for the first month of coding sessions to all Vista Verde families. Code Ninjas offers a progressive curriculum that uses video game development to teach kids, 4 to 14 years old, key programming concepts. They also offer coding, robotics, Minecraft, Roblox and drone camps.

2020 Winter Bowl Football Championships
Over the weekend, the Vista Verde 3rd thru 8th grades and a combined 7th and 8th grade all-ladies team competed in the 2020 Winter Bowl Football Championships.
All teams at each grade level put in a fantastic effort and proudly represented our school.
Our Vista Verde Community would like to give some special shout-outs for teams
who made it to the Championship Game.
Two 5th grade teams represented our school with much pride and Vista Verde
finished as the runner-ups.
Our 6th grade team of Cole Barkett, Ben Berhe, Connor Chan, Ryan Delpassand,
Kasra Ghoddousi, Patrick Hertel, Sean Maher, Sayf Malki, Kylor Moss, Jack Nelson, Raymond Qiao, Evan Wu and Kasra Zandpour made us proud by winning
it all and bringing home the championship trophy!
Our 8th grade boys had two teams, and both represented Vista Verde with distinction as well winning both the East and West Championship Divisions.
The East Champs were Owen Bernstein, James Billiter, Joaquin Frank, Gabriel
Kwok, Lorenzo Kwok, Luca Meinardi, Ryan Shabbak, Sam Siegel, Joseph Tierney,
and Andrew Vargas.
The West Champs were Blaine Anderson, Brooks Beckmann, Brody Connors,
Ethan Golan, Jacob Hornback, Jordan Kfir, Wylan Moss, George O’Melveny, and
Luke Weston.
Congratulations to all of our Winter Bowl participants and champions. Vista
Verde families are extremely proud of all of you! Go Vikings!!!

What: IUSD College & Career Fair
When: Monday, March 16, 2020, 6PM – 8PM
Where: Portola High School Gym
Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with over 40 college and university representatives, attend college and career readiness breakout sessions, experience a Career Pathways showcase, and see IUSD students participating in a robotics scrimmage. Make sure to mark this important event on your calendar!

Last Thursday, the Irvine Unified Council PTA celebrated the winners of the 2020 Reflections Art Competition Winners at Irvine’s Civic Center!
Winter ACE Classes – Registration Began on Jan 18
The ACE Program (Afterschool Classroom Enrichment) is a program sponsored by
IPSF (Irvine Public Schools Foundation) in cooperation with the Irvine Unified School District.
These classes are offered right after school hours on the Vista Verde campus for nominal fees.
IPSF selects contractors who teach all types of classes ranging from athletics to academics to arts.
