Interested in some friendly online math competition? Calling all Vista Verde students in grades 3 through 8. Register by September 23rd to represent Vista Verde in this year’s Math Madness tournament. Students will solve math problems as a team on a joint platform and compete against other schools in the US.

It’s National Hispanic Heritage Month! Many people of Hispanic origin have contributed to the history of the U.S.A including ground-breaking Puerto Rican-American musical artist, Lin-Manuel Miranda, or Mexican American astronaut, Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman to go into outer space with the Discovery Shuttle in 1993. Did you know that 1 in 4 children in the United States is of Hispanic origin? Learn more about memorable Hispanic Americans who made an impact in today’s world, the countries of origin, why we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month!

IUSD hosts every year four General Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) Informational and Book Club meetings. Meetings are open to all IUSD parents and are held to promote open communication between district administrators, school staff, and parents. The book title will be announced soon.
