OCFA: ABC’s of Water Safety and BBQ Grill Safety

The Orange County Fire Authority reminds families to stay safe this holiday season. Here are some tips on BBQ Grill Safety and the ABC’s of Water Safety.

  • To prevent fires, keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grates and trays below the grill. For more grilling safety tips, visit ocfa.org.
  • Grills should be placed outside a safe distance from the home, deck railings, tables, overhanging branches, and areas where people gather. For more information on Grill Safety, visit ocfa.org.
  • Children can drown in less than 2 inches of water. Keep infants and toddlers within arm’s reach when they are near the water. For more information, visit ocfa.org.
  • Water safety starts at home. Follow the ABC’s of water safety to ensure you know how to keep yourself and others safe in and around the water. For more information on water safety, visit ocfa.org.
