Welcome to Our New Crossing Guard!

With the new school year, Vista Verde has a new crossing guard. Her name is Jackie Connolly and up until this year, she has worked at Bonita Canyon. She will be at the newly assigned crosswalk on the backside of the school at Summit Park/Lone Tree. If you use that cross walk, please be sure to say “Hello!” to Ms. Connolly.

Welcome Back to School!

It’s going to be another great year of learning at Vista Verde. Join the PTA and donate to the Annual Fund to help support our teachers and students. Visit VistaVerdePTA.org to donate and learn about all the great programs and events planned for the 2019-2020 school year.

Congrats to Mrs Boyd

IUSD Mandarin Immersion After School Program

To IUSD’s TK-2nd Grade Families,

Irvine Unified School District recognizes the importance of providing students opportunities to learn a second language and to develop those world language skills needed to successfully engage in a global society and economy. The South Coast Chinese Cultural Center / Irvine Chinese School, in partnership with the Irvine Unified School District, has the opportunity to create and offer an after school Mandarin immersion program for students in grades K-3 during the 2019-20 school year.

In an effort to measure the community’s interest in having available a language immersion program, we are asking parents to complete the following survey. All information will be kept confidential.

Important Water Safety Reminders

As you prepare for the hot summer months, filled with fun and long days in the sun, IUSD would like to take this opportunity to share important water safety reminders from the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA). This is the fifth year IUSD and the City of Irvine have partnered with OCFA on a water safety campaign for Irvine.  Below are links to helpful handouts from OCFA in five languages, which can be printed and placed on your refrigerator or somewhere visible for the whole family. Also, please share this information with caregivers.

ABCs of Water Safety
Remember the ABC’s of water safety:

  • A – Active Adult Supervision
  • B – Barriers to prevent toddlers and children from falling into the pool
  • C – Classes, so children know how to swim is important.  Do not rely on swimming aids for safety
