CALLING ALL ARTISTS: SUBMIT ARTWORK BY OCTOBER 13TH!

The nationally-acclaimed PTA REFLECTIONS art program is going full steam ahead! All students are invited to participate and submit one original artwork in one or all of six areas:

• Dance Choreography
• Literature
• Photography
• Film Production
• Music Composition
• Visual Arts

The final artworks submitted to California State PTA by districts are then considered for Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit.

The Reflections Art program is in full gear! This year’s theme is “I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD BY…”

Since 1969, the PTA Reflections art program has been a core outlet for students to unleash their creativity and share their perspectives through different forms of art, spefically: Dance, Film, Literature, Music, Photography, and Visual Arts. Students can enter one submission in one or all categories!

There are four divisions:

Primary K-2nd Grade

Intermediate 3rd-5th Grade

Middle School 6th-8th Grade

Special Artist: Students who identify as having a disability. For more information, visit http://downloads.capta.org/ref/SpecialArtist.pdf.

All entries must be submitted using the online form found at www.vistaverdepta.org/reflections.

“I Will Change the World By…”

That’s the theme for the 2021-22 Reflections Art Program, which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members, families and kids are on the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.

Reflections encourages students of all ages to:

• Unleash creative talentsand be inspired
• Express themselvesimaginatively in their artwork
• Experience the fun and joyof making art
• Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
• Receive positive recognitionfor their original works of art.

Membership in PTA provides the opportunity to participate in the National PTA Reflections program. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
