National History Day – Theme for 2023 Competition
If you like telling stories, consider signing up for National History Day. Each year National History Day frames students’ research with a historical theme. The theme is chosen for broad application to world, national or state history. Next year’s theme is Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas. Go to the NHD site for more details on competition categories and rules. Specific dates will be available later this year.
Reflections Art Program 22-23
Hey Vikings! Show your talent and join us for the 2022-23 Reflections Art Program. The theme is SHOW YOUR VOICE! Take it and run with it this summer! All students are encouraged to create a short film, compose original music or literature, choreograph a dance, take a photograph, or create visual art: painting, graphic design, a sculpture, or create fashion using the theme, SHOW YOUR VOICE! Any student can submit one entry in all six categories! Students with disabilities who receive services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or Section 504 can submit entries through the Special Artist division as well! Submissions are not due until early fall. Learn more about it here or visit www.vistaverdepta.org/reflections.
