Uni Pep Squad Clinic for 7th/8th Grades – March 23 – Saturday

University High School Pep Squad will be hosting a 7th/8th Grade Pep Squad Clinic at the UNI gym on Saturday, March 23rd from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

City of Irvine – Staying Connected to Today’s Teen – March 27 – Wednesday

The City of Irvine, in partnership with the Irvine Prevention Coalition, is pleased to sponsor well-known adolescent psychologist Dr. Jerry Weichman to lead a community discussion about the impact positive social relationships have on a teenager’s mental health and physical well-being. The free community event at Irvine Civic Center is intended for parents of teenage children. It is presented with the support of Irvine Public Schools Foundation, Irvine Unified School District, and Parent Teacher Association.

Discussion topics will include:

  • The state of teenagers — what are they thinking and doing, and why
  • The newest trends and behaviors facing teens in Irvine
  • Tips for building rapport, increasing communication, and gaining respect
  • How to identify a teen in trouble, and the best ways to support them
  • Ways to diffuse an escalated situation with a student
  • Warning signs that everyone should be keeping an eye out for
  • Effective mental health tools you can teach students/children
  • Simple coping techniques to help you remain in control and maintain composure

Woodbridge HS Freshman Class Council / ASB Information

If your 8th grader is planning to attend Woodbridge HS, would your student be interested in joining ASB or Freshman Class Council?

Woodbridge HS will be holding interviews at the end of this school year to identify their Freshman Class President and Freshman Class Vice President, as well as several members of the Freshman Class Council.

More information is available here, and the entire folder of application materials is available at tinyurl.com/woodbridgeasb. There will be a mandatory meeting at 8thGrade Family Night – 5:30 p.m. in the WHS Media Center, and attendance will be taken.

Interviews will be April 22-24 at WHS.

competes in the Irvine Swim League. The age range for swimmers is 5-18
years old as of June 1. We are based out of the Turtle Rock Highlands Pool.

IUSD College and Career Fair – March 11 – Monday

The IUSD College and Career Fair is quickly approaching!  We are excited to have a variety of activities that night, including several robotics scrimmages, an Engineering and Auto Tech Open House, and opportunities to meet with representatives from over 50 colleges and multiple career pathways.
