Vista Verde PTA Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month

It’s National Hispanic Heritage Month! Many people of Hispanic origin have contributed to the history of the U.S.A including ground-breaking Puerto Rican-American musical artist, Lin-Manuel Miranda, or Mexican American astronaut, Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman to go into outer space with the Discovery Shuttle in 1993. Did you know that 1 in 4 children in the United States is of Hispanic origin? Learn more about memorable Hispanic Americans who made an impact in today’s world, the countries of origin, why we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month!

PTA General Assembly Meeting – Tuesday, Nov 15th

Save the date for the next Vista Verde PTA General Assembly on Tuesday, November 15th, at 6pm. The Board will share updates and discuss PTA programs, and the membership will elect a Nominating Committee that will develop the slate for the 2023 – 2024 Executive Board. Elections for the new Board will be held in February 2023.
According to PTA Bylaws, one must be a PTA member for 30 days prior to November 15th to be eligible to vote on any proposals–if you are not a member, you may join here. To attend the meeting, please register here and after doing so, you will receive a confirmation email containing the Zoom link to join the meeting.

Family Fun Night – Saturday, October 22nd

Save the Date!  Family Fun Night is on Saturday, October 22nd, from 2pm to 6pm. Get ready for some fun with music, food trucks, entertainment and a silent auction.

IUSD hosts every year four General Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) Informational and Book Club meetings. Meetings are open to all IUSD parents and are held to promote open communication between district administrators, school staff, and parents. The book title will be announced soon.
