Reflections Art Contest Winners

Congratulations to our Reflections winners! Thank you to all 48 students who participated. Please click here for the full list of winners!

For the very first time in VVPTA history, we are holding a Reflections awards ceremony! Due to the pandemic, we are still following Covid-19 safety guidelines and will provide the students with a drive through celebration this Friday, November 12th, from 3:45-4:15pm. We will pass out ribbons and awards. See details on the flyer. If you are unable to make it on Friday, please contact us directly and we can make arrangements for an alternate pickup date.

In honor of all of our participants we would like to celebrate our record setting participation with an art supplies gift basket drawing!  All names will be placed in a bowl and Mr. Vlasic will randomly pick a winner. The winner can pick up their gift basket at Friday’s drive through celebration.

PTA Membership Classroom Contest Winners

Big congratulations to Mrs. Widen, Mrs. Madden & Ms. Gornbein whose classrooms had the highest percentage of PTA members at the end of our 30-day membership contest! Wow, are we on a great path to memberships this year! Thank you, parents, teachers, friends and family for your support. We are happy to report over 200 memberships this year (about 25% of the school!). Remember you can STILL join at any time! Make sure to visit us at our next GA meeting on November 30th at 9am for more updates!

IUSD Irvine Parent Education Programs

Please click here for more details on District-wide resources provided by IUSD. These free seminars and educational workshops by Irvine Parent Education Programs (IPEP) are offered to Irvine parents throughout the school year. IPEP’s goal is to empower parents with the skills and strategies necessary to become active participants in their child’s education. IPEP offers a variety of workshops focused on topics important to parents of IUSD students. Experienced instructors and district-level representatives lead each workshop, providing participants with thoughtful and up to date information.

Square 1 Art

Dear Vista Verde Families,

K-5 students and teachers have been busy creating beautiful masterpieces for our Square 1 Art Fundraiser! Artwork is coming home in early November with details on how you can order your custom keepsakes. A percentage of every purchase will go towards Vista Verde!

We also encourage Grades 6-8 to participate using these simple steps!

  • Take a photo of new or past artwork (colorful/vibrant art prints the best)
  • Upload and customize at the website above
  • Shop for keepsakes and holiday gifts (online ordering only)
  • FREE shipping to Vista Verde before Winter recess (must include advisement teacher’s name and grade)
  • LAST DAY FOR ART UPLOAD AND ORDERS: 11/19/2021

Elementary Science Olympiad – Register by October 30th!

Calling all upper elementary students! Are you interested in representing Vista Verde in a science competition against other California elementary schools?

Join the Vista Verde Elementary Science Olympiad team! You will be sorted in weekly study/practice Zoom sessions in 3 topics. The virtual competition is held online on March 5, 2022.

Red Ribbon Week – October 25-29

Red Ribbon Week is the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign in the nation. This year’s theme is “BE HAPPY, BE HEALTHY, AND BE KIND.”  Join the Vista Verde PTA as we show our school spirit while promoting a drug-free lifestyle. Red Ribbon Week dress up days:

Monday, Oct. 25th: Rally in Red! Kick off our Red Ribbon Week journey by wearing Red!

Tuesday, Oct. 26th: Crazy Kindness! Vikings are crazy about being kind! Wear crazy hair, crazy hat, crazy socks or all of the above!

Wednesday, Oct. 27th: Healthy looks like me! Show us how you like to stay healthy! Wear a jersey, uniform, sweatband or sweats!

Thursday, Oct. 28th: Thank you! Send a card to someone you are thankful for! (Cards will be provided to all grades.)

Friday, Oct. 29th: Fall Spirit Day! Have fun! Costumes are welcomed and encouraged! (Dress codes apply.)
