PTA Reflections: What My Culture Means to Me

All Vista Verde students in grades K–8 are invited to participate in this year’s Reflections Art Program! Reflections encourages students to explore their creativity and share their unique perspectives through the visual, performing, and written arts.

Students may submit one original entry per category in any or all of the following:

  • Visual Arts
  •  Photography
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production

Free Reflections Creative Workshop

To help students get inspired and start creating, we’re hosting a free, after-school Creative Workshop at Vista Verde!

Friday, September 11
3:30 – 4:30 PM

Students will have an opportunity to explore different Reflections categories, brainstorm ideas around this year’s theme, and begin developing an entry. Parents are welcome to attend.

Reflections Entry Deadline: Monday, October 19, 2026
Submission information will be shared soon.

Before creating an entry, families can also review the How to Craft an Entry and Overall Entry Guidelines.

Each year, Vista Verde students create thoughtful and inspiring work, with many entries advancing beyond the school level to Irvine Council, Fourth District PTA, California State PTA, and even the National PTA Reflections Program. We can’t wait to see how our students interpret this year’s theme, What My Culture Means to Me!

Join us for the annual Vista Verde PTA Ice Cream Spectacular as we kick off the new school year with ice cream, music, school spirit, and community fun!

Families are invited to stop by, enjoy a sweet treat, learn more about the programs and events planned for the year, and find out how your support through PTA Membership and our Annual Donation helps make these opportunities possible for Vista Verde students.

Event Schedule:

* Elementary students will exit through the front gates and line up near the yellow gate for entrance.
* Elementary students may enter beginning at 2:45 PM.
* Middle school students may enter beginning at 3:00 PM.
* Music begins at 3:00 PM.

Ice cream is proudly sponsored by the Vista Verde PTA and will be available to all students, siblings, and staff.

Limit one cup per person, while supplies last.

We look forward to celebrating the start of another great school year with our Vista Verde community!

Volley Fest Tournament

It’s time to get our Vikings on the court!

Volley Fest is a school-based volleyball tournament where students get the chance to represent Vista Verde and compete against other schools from across Irvine and the surrounding area.

Who: Boys & Girls, Grades 5–8
What: Volley Fest Volleyball Tournament
Where: IUSD Gyms

Whether your child plays volleyball regularly or just wants to get out there, compete, and represent Vista Verde, we’d love to have them join the team!
