The annual Vision & Hearing tests are scheduled for March 11th.  Please consider helping out. 
There are two shifts available – 8am to 11am and 11am to 1pm.

IPSF Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament- Register by Feb 16

Have fun representing Vista Verde at this year’s Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament for boys and girls in grades 3-8.  The tournament will be held from March 13th-15th at various Irvine basketball gyms.

All students are welcome to try out. The registration fee is $35 per person (price includes 2 T-shirts)

Register online at ocyouthsports.org/irvine/tournaments/hoops-classic This is the third of three events of the Irvine Tournament of Champions to crown the City Champion!

Deadline to register is February 16th. Parent volunteer coaches are needed!

Spelling Bee on Thursday – Jan 23rd – Register by Jan 15th

The Middle School Spelling Bee is coming after Winter Break. Competition is for Gr 6-8.  See attached flyer for details.

Winter ACE Classes – Registration Begins on Jan 18

The ACE Program (Afterschool Classroom Enrichment) is a program sponsored by
IPSF (Irvine Public Schools Foundation) in cooperation with the Irvine Unified School District.

These classes are offered right after school hours on the Vista Verde campus for nominal fees.
IPSF selects contractors who teach all types of classes ranging from athletics to academics to arts.

National Geographic Bee on Wednesday, Jan 29th – Register by Jan 22nd

The National Geographic GeoBee is an annual competition designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Competition is for Gr 4-8.  See attached flyer for more details.

Congratulations Reflections Winners!

This fall, the National PTA celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Reflections Art Program! This year’s theme was “Look Within.”  We received a record total of 33 submissions! Entries are judged at school level, and if they win 1st place, they move on to council level (all over Irvine). If they win at council level, they move up to the Fourth District (all of South Orange County). We are thrilled to announce that two of our very own Vikings have moved on to the PTA District competition!

Winning 1st place (Award of Excellence) at school and council level:  Brielle Leiberman, (Middle School, 6th Grade, Percoco) for original dance choreography: “Human” by Christina Perri; Kian Agha, (Primary: 1st Grade, Caswell) for original photography: “Look Within Death Valley”

Brielle and Kian will be honored for placing 1st Place, the Award of Excellence, at the annual Reflections Awards Ceremony on January 23rd.  We would also like to recognize our winners in the other categories at school level:
