Viking Voices Kickoff Meeting – August 21 – Wednesday
All middle school students are invited to join Viking Voices, our public speaking club that meets alternating Wednesdays.
No prior experience is necessary. We practice interpersonal communication skills and leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment. Meetings are student led and mentored by parent volunteers.
The first meeting of the year is Wednesday, August 21st, 1:30-2:30 pm in Mrs. Jacobs’ classroom, #18.

First Annual Rubik’s Cube Club and Competitions
Join us Tuesday, September 17th for our first Rubik’s Cube Club Meeting in Mrs. Jacobs Room from 3pm-4pm.
All levels welcome. Bring your favorite cubes, a timer if you have one, and any other supplies you would like to share with the group.
This group is limited to Grades 4-8. We will have a booth at Family Fun Night, October 25th, with a Rubik’s Cube Competition.

Blessings In A Backpack
Blessings In A Backpack has been such a great success due to the generosity of our remarkable Vista Verde family community!!!!
Thank you for your generosity in providing food for children in need through Blessings In A Backpack.
Backpacks will be distributed to your child’s class on Friday and need to be returned the following Wednesday morning. Specific directions for what to include in the backpacks will be distributed with the backpacks.

Please write the name of the student and student’s teacher in the comment space so that we know where to deliver the backpacks on Friday!
Please note that there are 10 backpacks available each week. You can sign up for one or more.
P.S. We would love to add more backpacks to fill for students in need if there are enough generous families willing to participate.

Room Parents Meeting – August 21 – Wednesday
There will be a room parent meeting on Wednesday, August 21 at 8:30 am in the MPR.
Coffee and donuts will be provided. We will discuss the duties and role of being a room parent.
