Reflections Art Program “I Matter Because…”- Deadline Oct 14, 2020

Calling all Vista Verde Vikings!

“I Matter Because” is this year’s theme for the 2020-21 Reflections Art Program which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969.
Reflections encourages students of all ages to:
• Unleash creative talents and be inspired
• Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
• Experience the fun and joy of making art
• Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
• Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.
There’s only a few more days before school starts, so while you have some down time,
start brainstorming! Many kids have been creative making their own videos during this
unusual time. Some have been creating lots of artwork! Some have been getting their
dance moves down through Tik Tok. Take the theme and create something that reflects
it through original works of dance, film, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Show us why YOU matter!

Back to school town hall- August 12 at 1 pm

Back-to-school town hall with EdSource
We know you have questions about what “back to school” will look like this year.
And — while we don’t have all the answers — EdSource’s team of reporters and editors is coming together in a live, online forum to hear your questions and share what we know so far about how child care providers, schools and colleges are tackling the challenges posed by the pandemic.
We hope you’ll join us! Tell us your most pressing questions and we will do our best to provide answers and point you to helpful resources.
This event is free and open to all, but we believe it will be particularly helpful to students, parents, and community members who are not able to closely track developments in California’s public education systems on a daily basis.
